July Box

July Box

My July box is my second Conscious Box. The July theme is “Dig Deep”.  The inside of the card gives detailed information on the items in the box and information on the powder deodorant that was on special this month.

Dig Deep

Every month Conscious Box does a great job packing the items.  The first look always leaves some hidden items in the packing materials.  You can also see the items if you login to Conscious Box before you receive your box.

First Look

First Look

This month there were several fruity items included in the box.  The Honest Kids super fruit punch went straight into our fridge.  I’ve always loved CapriSun and liked to see there is an organic option available.  There was also a Buddy Fruits pouch in apple and banana.  Keeping this handy for when friends or family visit with their kiddos.  The third item is an Everly energy drink powder great to add to a water bottle in peach mango flavor.

Fruity options

Fruity options

The Clif Bar is going straight to Mike’s cycling snack bin.  This is one of his favorite flavor options in crunchy peanut butter.  The Glutenfreeda oatmeal will be a great breakfast option with some cinnamon and raisins in the morning.  The Amki sesame snaps were not included on the box insert.  I remember these treats from my childhood, my dad was always looking for nutritious options.

Snacks

Snacks

The box also included some items I had never seen before.  I’ve been trying to get the courage to try the Four Sigma Foods instant reishi.  This item is made of mushroom and you dissolve it in hot water before bed or when feeling stressed.  The Beauty Bursts are gourmet collagen soft chews.  The flavor included is chocolate mint.

Supplements

Supplements

The box also included Manitoba hemp hearts.  This item is a great source of omega 3 and can be added to yogurt or salads for a nice nutty flavor.  I had received a similar sample earlier in July.  The SoTru ChocoSlim is a weight management supplement.  It’s supposed to boost energy and help control cravings.  When I can’t find organic options in my grocery store I use a fruit and vegetable wash.  This is a great sample to try the Environné brand.

Healthy options

Healthy options

The Natralia heel balm was included in my June box as well so this is a repeat for me.  They did include the anti-itch soothing cream as well this month.  I haven’t had a need yet to try this, I placed it in our first aid box.  The samples are on the small side with a one time use only.

Natralia

Natralia

I did not feel the July box had a great value for my household.  There were many supplements that were one time use doses.  This will not be enough to determine if I want to purchase full size items. There were 5 items I will consider full size or deluxe sample and 8 samples on the small to tiny side.  August boxes should be shipping out in another week.  I’m trying not to peek at the contents.

Loved the Card!

Loved the Card!

The initial box view was nice! I loved the paper and the card states the June theme as “In the Summertime”.  The inside of the card gives detailed information on the items in the box and instructions on how to melt chocolate for chocolate-dipped strawberries.  I had received an email with shipping information that said there would be chocolate in the box.  There may have been some worries about melted chocolate.

They also included a cute recipe booklet for the various chip options for June.

Two bars of Chocolate!

Two bars of Chocolate!

This was love at first sight for me.  The box included to items from Equal Exchange the Caramel Crunch was my favorite of the two.  Only because I’m addicted to dark chocolate.  The milk chocolate crisp had a combination of puffed rice and quinoa, a first for me.  The bars were shipped inside a Ziploc bag and neither bar was melted.  I had just returned from a trip and the box was at the post office which worked out great.

MelanSol SPF 10 Sunscreen

MelanSol may very well be a great product, unfortunately it is only SPF 10.  I’m very fair skinned and tend to burn even with a high SPF.  My husband is a cyclist and needs good protection from constant sun exposure.  We will be saving this for cloudy days or give this to someone who may not need much SPF protection.  Highest ticket item at a value of $20.95.

Iron and Protein

Iron and Protein

The box also included a sample of Spatone pur Absorb Iron.  I will be giving this one to my mom who has low iron and may find this to be a good option for her.  They also included MRM Veggie Elite performance protein.  This I will try in a breakfast smoothie soon!

Buddy Fruits!

Buddy Fruits!

Another good breakfast option is this Buddy Fruits Greek yogurt and Peach & Banana.  I will be trying this out later this week!

Bolt Tape

This Bolt tape came with a brochure to explain how it is a natural solution to pain.  One strip costs $3.50.  This will be something I may buy.  My husband is a cyclist and long rides can lead to sore muscles.

Route 11 Potato Chips

Route 11 Potato Chips

You can never go wrong with chips, especially a healthier option.  This were a huge hit for us.  The only complaint is that we wanted a bigger bag.  This small bag is about 50 cents very comparable to traditional chips out there.  Plus there were only three ingredients: potatoes, sunflower oil, and sea salt! I will be looking for these Route 11 chips in my HEB.

Samples

The box also included foils with Somerset’s Extra Delicate and Extra Sensitive shaving oil.  There was also a sample for Quit Tea, I’ll be giving this away as there are no smokers in my family.  There was also a voucher for $100 at Naked Wines.  I’m not sure how this will work, but it does say it has to be a $160 purchase.  We will be waiting on the use of this voucher.  Just returned from the Texas Hill Country with wine.

Coupons and Sample

Coupons and Sample

The last items in the box included a sample of heel balm by Natralia.  It is a product I will be trying this weekend.  I do think it’s a little bit on the small side, the packet before and after picture are in a two week span.  Plus the product is recommended in morning and evening.  I loved the little coupon envelope.  I’m actually using it to keep all my coupons from the boxes I’ve received.

June Box

June Box

I was happy with my June box and felt I was exposed to some new items I would not have tried otherwise.  The chocolate was by far my favorite item in the box!  There were 6 items I will consider full size or deluxe sample and 7 samples on the small to tiny side.  There were only two items in the box that I felt were not applicable to us.  I should be getting my July box soon and I can’t wait to see if there is consistency.
