He was hoping for a charger and his wish was granted.  This month’s box was a collaboration with The League and included items for every fan.  Mike received Box #18 out of a possible 25.

Utility Tool

Utility Tool

The first item in the box was the True Utility Framework Mini ($17).  Mike was so happy to receive this item, his expression was priceless.  He has always been a fan of these utility tools and had been thinking of getting a new one recently. I think he would have been happy with many of the lifestyle options this month.  This would have been his top pick.  The tool came in a waterproof container which he will give to a friend to enjoy.

The second item is his October sample choice, Jack Black pure clean daily facial cleanser ($18 for 6 oz).  He is really into his daily skin routine and this is always a great item for him.  He also received an Ursa Major fortifying face balm ($36 for 2.5 oz) which will get used up as well.  He has received a previous item from Ursa Major and loved the smell.

The next item in his box was an shave cream, Baxter super close shave formula ($18 for 250 mL).  It had a nice aroma and he was excited to use it for a few days, he’s just always in a hurry when he shaves.  Great to try, probably not a purchasable item for him. The full size costs $18 for 4 ounces.

Manly

His fourth sample was EastWest Bottlers Moonshine gentleman’s cologne ($80 for 3.4 oz).  Not really Mike’s usual scent, he’ll use it nonetheless.  He had a cologne last month as well so not too excited about this item.

The last item in his box was a sample of das boom industries lotion.  This item is available in several manly scents such as bay rum smoke & dirt, bourbon & leather, or yuzo shiso & saffron. This product is sulfate and paraben free making a better option.  The full size 8 oz costs $24. He received the bay rum scent and it smells very nice and manly.

The October box was approximately over $25 in products and samples.  Plus he will receive a total of 50 points for the reviews which equals $5 for the Birchbox store. Looking forward to the November spoilers!  This month’s box has been his favorite thus far.  Please use Mike’s link if you would like to sign up with Birchbox Man.

Mike received his third Birchbox Man this month. His box took seven days to arrive!!! This month’s lifestyle items included an iPhone lightning cord, a tie clip, sock liners, and field notes with pens. He was hoping for a charger and his wish was granted.  This month’s box was a collaboration with Bonobos and included an extra item, a pocket square, for every subscriber.

Hit the Books

Hit the Books

The first item in the box was the Bonobos pocket square in Anchor Chief pattern ($42).  Mike does not use a pocket square.  It is a really nice item and I’m sure we can find a good use. Just have to make sure he doesn’t use it to clean his bike, he’s funny like that only the best for his bike. The second item is the Eastern Collective lightening cable ($25.95) in Executive pattern. These cords are available in many colorful styles in the Birchbox store. Mike says he feels the cord is longer than the regular cord and a bit thicker making it less flimsy.  He’s gone through a couple of the apple cords already.

The third item is English Laundry Riviera eau de toilette ($76 for 3.4 oz).  Mike used this today and he smelled nice.  He was so happy that it was a small spray and not a vial.  It has some spicy notes and is perfect for winter.  I mean fall! What am I saying, we really only get a week of Winter here!

The next item in his box was a sample of Clinique for Men broad spectrum SPF 21 Moisturizer. Mike spends a lot of time on his bicycle rides out in the hot South Texas sun.  Moisturizer with SPF is always a great thing for him.  He has combination skin and some rosacea so moisturizer is essential for him several times a day.  The full size 100 mL tube costs $26.

The last item in his box was an after shave balm by Baxter.  It had a nice aroma and he was excited to use it for a few days, he’s just always in a hurry when he shaves.  Great to try, probably not a purchasable item for him. The full size costs $18 for 4 ounces.

Looking forward to the October spoilers!  Hopefully, he’ll be fast enough in October.  He really liked this month’s box and has decided to continue with the subscription.  Please use Mike’s link if you would like to sign up with Birchbox Man.  He did not respond to his sample choice quickly enough this month.  Hoping he gets a good choice this next month.

Mike received his second Birchbox Man this month. His box took seven days to arrive!!! This months preview video showed a hip flask, a leather bracelet, and a pair of boxers as the lifestyle items. It’s been a bit busy and I didn’t have a chance to talk about his preference before the box arrived this month.

The first item in the box was a set of boxer by Grover.  Mike received a pair of boxer briefs in sea glass. I was disappointed when I saw them on his Birchbox account since he received boxer briefs last month.   He liked them and thought they were great for sleepwear, go figure I thought he wouldn’t like the color or length. They have these available for $22 in the Birchbox store in burgundy, cool grey, kelly green, sea glass, navy, and vintage red.

The second items was  Beard Buddy beard oil.  Tiny issue…Mike has no beard, sometimes a bit of scruff but only out of laziness.  So he decided to be a glass half full kind of guy and will try this out as a face oil.  The cost for a 30 oz bottle is $40.

Mike also received a sample of Dr. Squatch pine tar soap bar.  THe scent is very manly and I could smell it as soon as we opened the outer box.  We use liquid body soap but I think it’s good for Mike to try this out. He goes through body wash way too quickly.  The full size costs only $6.

The next item in his box was a sample of Ursa Major fantastic face washThis is another great item for Mike.  He goes through a lot of facial cleanser and it’s nice to be able to try a new brand.  He suffers from rosacea and psoriasis, I could see less redness after he’s used this item.  I really believe that it’s gentle as it claims. The full size 6oz tube costs $26.

The last item in his box was a sample of English Laundry pomade. The full size 3 oz container costs $25. Sorry about the blur on this picture.

Mike received his first Birchbox Man this month. His box took nine days to arrive!!! After I received my box last month I asked if he’d be interested in receiving his own manly box.    He was game to try out some new stuff, and I must say he takes longer to get ready than I do.  LOL!

Blue Outer Box

Birchbox Man is a great subscription at only $20 and with great new products to try every month.  It is more expensive than the woman’s box but includes pricier items.  This months box was a collaboration with Detail magazine.  With the box they included a subscription to Detail magazine or you can request a reimbursement.

Details Magazine Collaboration

The theme for July’s Birchbox Man is best in show.  They included the information card with specifics on the Details magazine subscription information as well.  Mike was really hoping for the Harry razor we saw on some other reveals.  He hadn’t peeked at his items yet so it was a true unboxing.

First look...

First look…

The first item in the box was a set of boxer briefs by Bread and Boxers.  Mike was initially disappointed since he was hoping for the Harry’s razor.  He actually wore this to a wedding this weekend.  He said they were very comfortable.  I thought the fit was perfect to wear when you don’t want bulky undergarments. They have these available for $18 in the Birchbox store in white, black, and grey.

Bread and Butter

The second items included Number 4 Hydrating shampoo and conditioner.  We are still using some other samples and will be trying these soon.  The smell is not girly so I think he will like it.  Full size shampoo costs $34 and conditioner is $36.  Mike absolutely loved the Plant face oil (ØA for combination skin).  I’m hoping he’ll get other Plant products in future boxes.  The cost for a 30 oz bottle is $40.

Plants and Formula 4

Plants and Number 4

Mike also received a sample of Proraso shaving cream.  He said that the cream felt refreshing and like it helped reduce the razor burn that he experiences.  This is another great product for him.  The full size costs only $10 for 150mL.

Prosaco

The last item in his box was a sample of COOLA radical recovery after sun lotion.  This is another great item for Mike.  He is a cyclist as you may know if you’ve read some of the cycling box reviews.  As such, the South Texas sun can wreak havoc on his skin.  I’m hoping that this will help recover any sun damage.  It’s also nice that the lotion is 70% organic.  The full size 6oz tube costs $32.

Coola

The July box was a good value around $24 in products and samples plus $10 Detail magazine subscription.  Plus he will receive a total of 60 points for the reviews which equals $6 for the Birchbox store.  Mike is looking forward to the August goodies.  This month they have a great code for 100 birchbox points if you sign up using code BBJETBLUE.  The hundred points are equal to $10 of product, it’s like getting the box for free!!  Sign up soon so that you can receive the August box!  Please use my link if you would like to sign up to Birchbox.
